Before You Order Wallpaper: What to Check
Before you order wallpaper, have the installer check the exact product, pattern repeat, wall measurements, surface condition and proposed layout. Save the roll dimensions and installation instructions, then confirm the quantity and any reserve before buying. Square footage is a starting point; matching the pattern and positioning it around openings can change the material needed.
The goal is to agree on what you are buying, where the pattern will sit and what must happen to the wall first.

Make a product record before comparing quantities
Save the manufacturer, collection, product number, roll dimensions and installation instructions. Check whether the listed price and packaged quantity use the same unit. Pattern repeat and match describe layout requirements; they are not decorative details to discover after the material arrives.

Agree on the focal area, not just the pattern name
Point out what you will see first when entering the room and what you want to emphasize. A pattern near a mirror, doorway or central feature may require a different conversation from one covering a plain wall.
Ask how the layout addresses corners and openings, and where a join or termination may be noticeable. A sketch can clarify the decision before material is cut. It should describe the chosen room, not promise that every wall can be made visually identical.
Keep wall preparation separate from material selection
A wallcovering you like may still require preparation that is not visible in the finished product photograph. Existing paper, adhesive, uneven areas or an unsuitable surface can change the work.

Do not assume that buying wallpaper also means the walls are ready, or that wallpaper will hide a condition that needs repair.
Inspect the delivery before installation begins
Keep labels and order information. Ask the installer to check the delivered material against the approved product and layout before cutting. Can I order from wall square footage alone?
Treat it as preliminary information. Openings, pattern matching, dimensions and the desired layout can affect usable yield. Have the installer confirm the order.
Is an accent wall automatically a simpler project?
Not necessarily. A small focal area can make pattern placement and edges especially visible. Review the layout rather than judging complexity only by size.
